LOVE ASSIGNMENT 3 – WHAT I AM SUCCESSFUL AT RIGHT NOW (some can be “past” successes)
For this assignment, you are to ask yourself, “WHAT AM I SUCCESSFUL AT RIGHT NOW?” Another way to phrase this question is, “What am I good at?” This question may stir up some doubt – this is okay! Most of us have been trained to measure “success” by the acquisition of external / material objects. You need to go deeper than what is on the “outside” of your being. Some of us immediately think, “I’m not good at anything.” Others will write pages of their successes. The main goal is to center upon how YOU measure success and how you FEEL when you experience success.
Here are of few examples to get you started:
I am successful at hiking, making mashed potatoes, parallel parking, name recall, teaching, math, writing, listening to others in need...
Try to avoid “ranking” your successes. The fact that I make really great mashed potatoes is just as valid as the fact that I am successful at teaching. The point is that I FEEL successful doing both of these things. Remember, this list can also include past successes. I haven’t played the violin in over thirty years, but I still FEEL it as a success.
